A group watches over a dead pilot whale beached at the wadduwa beach on November 03. A massive rescue operation was organized to refloat over 60 pilot whales who were beached on the Panadura Coast. The operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Police, Sri Lanka Navy, the Coast Guard, and area residents, since November 2, continued amidst during the COVID-19 curfew that was implemented early last week. According to marine biologists, pilot whales are known to the beach quite commonly on November 3, 2020
