Walk for Peace in Sri Lanka
The Ehipassiko Peace Walk was a truly inspiring seven-day journey that covered 210 kilometers across Sri Lanka, from the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura to Independence Square in Colombo. Led by Most Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra and twelve monks, the walk passed through beautiful cities like Dambulla, Kandy, and Kelaniya, spreading a powerful message of peace, mindfulness, and loving-kindness. Walking barefoot under the scorching heat of 40°C, the monks showed incredible dedication and spirit. People all along the route welcomed them with flowers, water, and warm hearts. The walk concluded with a grand State Ceremony attended by the President of Sri Lanka, making it a truly historic and unforgettable event for our island nation.
